Modern dance and acrobatic elements meets Händel’s beautiful and melancholic music in a new arrangement in a grey colourless landscape. Eight dancers perform on stage accompanied by five musicians, a soprano and a countertenor. Belgian les ballets C de la B is a melting pot where different artistic modes of expression blend. Koen Augustijnen was inspired when he saw a village covered in ashes, and Ashes is a reminder of ever present death and the ability of overcoming a serios loss.
